Barmouth is one of the most picturesque resorts on the Welsh coast and is surrounded by the majestic splendour of the Snowdonia National Park. You will probably want to walk in the hills and play on the beaches. Please bring suitable footwear and clothing to make it comfortable.
If you intend to walk/cycle or ride the Cader Idris and Snowdon mountains, be aware that they are servious mountains - please bring appropriate clothing as it can get very cold at the top, even on Summers days. Use a map and stick to the paths if you are not an experienced mountaineer. You will need crampons in the winter.
Dogs are welcome in almost all pubs and on the beaches (except the childrens play area in Barmouth). Please pop your dog on a lead if you see a horse while on the beach, so that they don't accidentally spook it, as well as protecting your dog being seriously hurt from a kick.
Our tap water is safe to drink, but it does not contain flouride which is often added by other areas and may therefore taste different to what you are used to, so you may prefer to bring bottled water.
